Forensic Science

The Forensic Science programme trains professionals to use scientific research and investigation techniques to help to establish the circumstances of a crime or incident and discover who is responsible for it.

Forensic scientists are called in to investigate not only crimes but all kinds of incidents, including fire, accidents and fraud, and damage due to product, material, structural failure or human error. Forensic scientists therefore work both at the “crime scene” and in the laboratory. There they analyse evidence or investigate which factors have played a part in an incident.
