Sustainable innovation in the metropolis is the main focus of the Research and Innovation Centre Agri, Food & Life Sciences (RIC-AFL). More and more people are living in the city, which a great impact for the living environment, food production and guarantee of food. Therefore, it is necessary to handle food, living environment and health in an economical and sustainable matter. Education, the professional field and the government together are performing applied research in the RIC-AFL to search for innovations and awareness in the metropolitan regions of Amsterdam and Rotterdam-Den-Haag.
